ChargePanel AB (publ) (“ChargePanel” or the “Company”) announces that Luossavaara-Kiirunavaara Aktiebolag (publ) (“LKAB”) has selected ChargePanel’s cloud-based Charging Station Management System (CSMS) to support the management and operation of charging infrastructure within its business.
The agreement marks an important step for ChargePanel within the industrial segment and demonstrates how the Company’s platform can support larger organizations in the transition to electrified vehicle fleets. As LKAB continues to electrify its vehicle fleet and digitalize its operations, ChargePanel’s technology will provide a centralized and scalable platform for monitoring, managing and optimizing its charging infrastructure.
LKAB is one of Europe’s leading mining and minerals groups and is undergoing a comprehensive transformation of its operations. Electrification is an important part of this development and is gradually being extended to more vehicles and transport solutions. As a larger vehicle fleet becomes electrified, the need for charging infrastructure that is accessible, efficient and easy to manage in day-to-day operations also increases.
Through ChargePanel’s CSMS, LKAB gains access to a centralized platform with capabilities including real-time monitoring, remote administration, smart charging, reporting and operational insights. The platform provides a consolidated view of the charging environment and creates the conditions for managing a growing number of charging points and vehicles as electrification progresses.
For larger vehicle fleets, electrification involves more than simply introducing electric vehicles. Charging needs to function as an integrated part of daily operations, where access to charging, available power capacity and operational control become increasingly important. In an industrial operation such as LKAB’s, these requirements are particularly evident, as the charging infrastructure must operate reliably in a complex and mission-critical environment.
ChargePanel’s platform is hardware-independent and designed to manage charging infrastructure across different types of vehicles, chargers and use cases. Centralized monitoring and remote management can contribute to higher availability and reduced administrative complexity, while smart charging capabilities create opportunities to use available power capacity more efficiently as the number of electric vehicles and charging points increases.
For ChargePanel, the agreement with LKAB strengthens the Company’s position within both fleet electrification and industrial operations. It also demonstrates how ChargePanel’s platform can be used as electrification develops from individual vehicles and charging points into a more integrated part of larger organizations’ day-to-day operations.
